Apart from manufacturing & supplying transformers, they offer repair and maintenance services of Oil-immersed Power & Distribution Transformers up to 10 MVA.

Speaking to the visiting team, Mr. Hardy Jalloh, Manager of Investment Promotion Department, explained the role of SLIEPA as the Country’s Investment Agency and moved on to expound the investment opportunities and the business landscape, bringing out the advantage of the Country’s geographical location to bigger markets.

According to the head of the scoping mission, Mr. Shriram Shinde, he was impressed with the economic potential of Sierra Leone and the investment environment. He expressed interest in agriculture, but the prominent interest was to establish a factory in Sierra Leone that would manufacture and assemble electrical transformers. He said, though the Country has a small market for their products, but its strategic geographical location grants them the privilege to access bigger markets in the sub-region looking at the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement ( AfCFTA) as added advantage.

The next step agreed with SLIEPA is a follow up communication leading to the next plan.
